Details
This is pretty straightforward, but the devil is in the details, as the saying goes. Take a few minutes to ensure you've got a handle on the numbers.
Compatibility with Your BIKE
Before purchasing, make sure you can answer YES to these two points...
-
The rear dropouts on your bike utilize one or more M8 (8mm) bolts, as pictured in the product images.
-
The length of your M8 dropout bolts are 18mm or 20mm.

Compatibility with Your RACK
Racks are made in many different sizes — it's important to measure your rack — and using RADaptors will lower the racks a substantial amount. Take two quick measurements...
- First, measure the vertical distance between the lower rack mount and the bottom of the rack platform, as pictured below (ex: 380mm)
- Now, measure the vertical distance between the center of your dropout bolts to the top of the tire (ex: 340mm)
- Subtract the second measurement from the first (ex: 380-340 = 40mm). This is the clearance you'll have using our RADaptors.
- The clearance you calculated above must be positive a positive number, preferably half an inch or more (12mm+).
- WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH CLARANCE? RADaptor-2 may help. Its upper mounting point adds an inch (25mm) of additional clearance.

Using BOLTdaptors with RADaptors
Order BOLTdaptors that are 2mm longer than your current M8 dropout bolts if you're using RADaptors and BOLTdaptors together.
Installation Instructions
Please follow these instructions to ensure your BOLTdaptors are installed properly and safely.
Small Differences in Bolt Centers
It's not unusual for the internal hole of the BOLTdaptor to be slightly off center. This does affect them in use. In cases where the hole is noticeably off center (more than ~ 1.5mm), we offer them for sale as blems at a discount.
